Marie-Claire Pottecher

It is with profound sadness that we learned of the passing of our friend, Marie-Claire Pottecher, on Friday, July 12, 2024.

A partner at Fidere Avocats, Marie-Claire embodied the human values of a firm she had joined shortly after its creation, in 2016, after being sworn in on February 12, 2003.

Marie-Claire was a sunny, energetic, joyful person, and deeply compassionate.

Her loved ones always describe her as someone who was ‘ready to dedicate time to others,’ even when facing personal challenges. ‘We loved being by her side; she warmed us like the sun in winter.’

Her colleagues remember her as ‘brilliant and sparkling,’ recalling ‘her rare humanity,’ ‘her generosity, her smile, and her beauty.’

Her human qualities were matched only by her professional excellence: ‘Marie-Claire was an admirable person, as radiant in her human relations as she was brilliant in her profession.’

‘Engaged, cheerful, (super)active, always focused on others,’ say those who had the privilege of crossing paths with her. She was a true ‘fighter.’

On the occasion of her passing, the Bar President, Pierre Hoffman, praised her commitment to raising awareness of illness within the Bar: ‘Marie-Claire was an inspiration for our Bar. Thanks to our discussions and her recommendations, we voted for an assistance project to support lawyers facing similar situations.’

We will remember her for her good humor and the image of a brilliant and passionate lawyer.

A ‘special thought for her husband and children‘ remains in the hearts of all who knew her.
